July Meeting

  • 13 Jul 2019
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Historic Johnson Farm, 3346 Haywood Road, Hendersonville, NC

Our speaker for the July meeting program will be Lorri Helms, who many of you know. Lorri has been spinning and knitting for about 36 years. She moved to Mars Hill 18 years ago, and began acquiring fiber animals. Currently she has about 50 sheep and goats, and 4 angora rabbits. She has previously taught at Friends & Fiberworks retreats, the Peachtree Handspinners Guild, and John C. Campbell Folk School, as well as her home studio. She is a member of Shepherds, Spinners & Wannabees, Mad Spinners, TKGA, and is a board member of SAFF. She does amazing things with a knitting machine that I didn't know was possible and will be talking with us about her adventures in machine knitting.
