Crackle, Not Crackle?

2-day workshop with Pat Brown

Using just a four shaft loom with a four color warp you will learn to create multiple different but related designs.  I will show how to adapt an existing draft to this technique and we will create a new draft to show how simple it can be.  I will work with each student individually so all can learn how to create a four color warp.

About: Pat Brown is a member of WNCFHG who has been experimenting with crackle and color for several years and now  wants to share jer techniques with others.

Presenter will provide:

-   3 yard pre-wound warp in 10/2 unmercerized cotton and threading instructions

-   a wide color selection of weft yarns

-   a booklet of all drafts used in the class

-   electric bobbin winder for class use

-   warping mill for class use

-   warping board for class use

Participants will provide:

- $35 materials fee paid directly to presenter

-  Four (or more) shaft loom fully dressed with instructor provided warp and warping instructions, ready to weave

-  One shuttle and appropriate bobbins if needed

-  standard tools you like when weaving,  i.e.  scissors, weights for broken ends, tape measure, needles, pins, note pad, post it notes,  whatever you like to have handy

Participants may want:

- a second shuttle for the more adventurous treadlings
