Title: Modular Knitting
Description: Knitting bumped into geometry one day and they have been making beautiful things together ever since!
"When handpainted yarns began to appear on the knitting scene I started exploring interesting ways to use these exciting yarns and found that modular knitting was a great way to use handpaints and also helped to break up color pooling. I was particularly interested in finding modular designs for garments and accessories rather than just afghans.
So, this class also includes a lot of information about using handpainted or gradient or color sequenced yarns in the context of modular designs. Here are some of the most interesting modular designs on Ravelry."
Knit squares, triangles, and other interesting shapes and learn how to put them together with very exciting results. Start with a simple bag, and the possibilities are unlimited from there. Not your grandmother’s knitting!
Adventurous knitters of any level are welcome.
This 2 day class will include mitered squares, triangles, hexagons, log cabin, entrelac, continuous design, I-cord variations, finishing. Students should bring smooth DK and worsted weight yarns in any color, an assortment of knitting needles (straight, dps, circs) in US size 6-8. It is best to pool yarns to give every student lots of color options, scraps and partial balls are fine; natural fibers preferred.
