Exploring Double Two-Tie

Double two-tie (D2T) threadings* are incredibly versatile, offering the ability to weave a variety of different structures which can be used in block designs, color play, and texture, on fewer shafts.
About the Instructor: Linda Schultz has been weaving for over fifty years. She is particularly interested in exploring different weave structures and the interplay of color and structure. She has taught classes and written articles in order to share her discoveries.
About this Workshop:
Ability level: Advanced beginner or intermediate.
Must be able to: Dress a loom
Read and follow a weaving draft, including using a liftplan
Familiar with block weaves and profile drafts
Optional but helpful - familiar with using weaving software
Loom Requirements:
8 shaft loom
Location
Historic Johnson Farm, Hendersonville. NC
Participants will provide:
Pre-warped 8 shaft loom. Shuttles, weft yarn, scissors, tape measure, notebook, pencil and any other materials needed for weaving.
Optional items: Participants may also bring a laptop with weaving software - Fiberworks for Mac will be used for demonstrations and can be downloaded and used for free on Mac or Windows.
Lunch, drinks, snacks as desired. (No lunch provided)
Instructor will supply:
Instructions for preparing looms, PDF handouts, wifs/drafts.
Additional Cost:
$5 Payable to the instructor on the first day of the workshop (cash or check).
