Western North Carolina Fibers/Handweavers Guild
For several years we have been leading an annual Textile Tour around the stunning Lesser Sunda Islands of Indonesia, which stretch eastwards from Bali. Next year’s tour will again take place in May and will be our most extensive itinerary to date.
We will be offering an optional 4 day pre-cruise tour on Flores, followed by a 12 day cruise taking in the islands of Flores, Lembata, Adonara, Ternate, Alor, Solor, Savu, Sumba and Rinca.
Every day we will be visiting weaving communities, enjoying exclusive demonstrations of their spinning, dyeing and weaving techniques – including the marine dyes used on Ternate and fascinating supplementary warp technique on Sumba, in which the patterns are recorded on sticks.
This is also a great trip for those whose partners are not addicted to textiles as we sail through spectacular scenery, visit some amazing villages, get to see inside clan houses, enjoy excellent snorkelling and meet royalty - not to mention the Komodo dragons!
There are a limited number of cabins available for this small group tour, and full details can be found on our website here

I am attaching a leaflet which you may wish to share with your members.
