Forwarding from Dani Burke; please contact her via the links.

I have been working with Asheville Sister Cities to plan these events and wanted to share them with you all! Below are short blurbs about each opportunity, pdfs attached go into more detail. Feel free to share with others in the WNC region, maybe you or some of your fellow weavers would be interested in the delegation down to Mexico!? I am going!

Saturday, March 28th- A day of lectures and exploration at Boundary End.
"Ancient and Contemporary Maya Pottery, Textiles, Writing, and Agriculture"

Tuesdays in April- An Intro to Backstrap Weaving class, at the Center for Craft
Open to the general public and in support of the Weaving Delegation heading to San Cristobal, Mexico in May 2020. Email me for more details!

Weaving Delegation to San Cristóbal, Mexico!
    May 17 - 24, 2020
San Cristobal is a Sister City to Asheville. After decades of relationship building we are so excited about this craft-focused delegation which will support artists both in Chiapas and for those traveling to learn from our home region. Not a weaver but interested in joining? Please reach out to myself or Gwen, Committee Chair, gwengh@charter.net, there are other ways to be involved!
